Sixty Group Co-Founder and Creative Director Wichy
Hassan drew inspiration from Andy Warhol's 1966 cult art-house film The Chelsea
Girls. With its pioneering technique of simultaneous side-by-side projection of
contrasting images and divergent content, this critically acclaimed film was one
of the defining works of the period.

The film is at once iconoclastic and innovative all
while remaining glamorous just like Miss
Sixty itself. This idea of duality has been explored throughout the Miss Sixty
Spring/Summer 2008 collection. Delicate fabrications are juxtaposed with
structured silhouettes to create a nuanced, multi-layered, and dynamic
assortment. Pieces in relaxed, luxurious silks and chiffons are paired with
tailored garments, producing a deliberate contrast between soft and strong that
is intelligent, alluring, and unexpected
signature Miss Sixty.
Bold all-over logo prints evoke the arresting Pop Art
aesthetic, while retro geometric prints are re-worked with electric colors and
contemporary shapes to create an ironic modernization of the era. Fresh, warm
summer colors such as lemon yellow, mauve, and coconut crème are paired with
chocolate brown to create light, airy looks. Steel blue and glossy white tones
are teamed with shiny metallic fabrics, adding a futuristic edge to the
collection.

The waist is the focus this season, with dresses,
tops, and even outerwear cut to accentuate an hourglass figure. High-waisted
silhouettes remain important, while empire waists further emphasize a sexy,
glamorous look. Slim, sleek pants are sensual yet wearable and above-the-knee
hemlines are feminine and sassy
especially when paired with the collection's super-refined cropped
jackets. Completing each look is a full array of Miss Sixty's statement-making
accessories.
Classic pieces like trench coats appear in various
interpretations throughout the collection. Revisited and updated with details
such as cropped sleeves, unique fabrications like glossy, coated nylon, or
balloon hems, each iteration is innovative while remaining expertly tailored
and artfully constructed.

Miss Sixty is known for referencing the 1970s, but the
Spring/Summer 2008 collection also recalls the 1960s in a new way, all while
staying true to the Miss Sixty heritage of sexiness, glamour, and irony. Characterized
by sophistication, sensual femininity, and cutting-edge design, Miss Sixty is
always distinctive and compelling.
